I’m not the biggest fan of flying. I do it a lot, but it’s not something that I go skipping merrily along to the airport to do. Now it may be different if I could have wings, or pull off what Superman does and just lift off the ground with no assistance whatsoever. This story is one of the many reasons why flying could be a bad idea, and all I can say is that I’m glad they didn’t make it off the ground before this disaster happened.
A Boeing 747 broke in half just before taking off from Brussels airport. The cargo plane was well on it’s way to take off but disaster struck as the back half seperated from the front half and the plane crashed on the tarmac. I’m sure the cracking and bending of airplane steel was accompanied by the screams of the aircraft crew, and may have even made an amazing melody together.
I’m just glad this was a cargo plane and not a passenger jet. It was carrying cars and fuel, which may have been ultimately more terrible if they had crashed after taking off. There’s not much else to this story but the pictures are freakin’ awesome.
It looks like the plane is HUMPING itself O_O
