H&H Resolution-O-Rama 2009

Greetings, everyone! This post is here to let you know that there will NOT be a show tonight. I know you’re sad. The team here at Horseshoes & Hand Grenades was just as excited as you are, and not having a show is equivalent to watching somebody kick a puppy. It’s utterly devastating. The good news is that we have come up with something to help keep that little puppy from being kicked so hard: The H&H Resolution-O-Rama 2009!

What we want from you kind people is your resolutions for what you want to achieve in this brand new year. We’re heading into the 010’s…or just 10’s..or 2010’s…I still haven’t figured out how to say it, and we want to know what you aim to do with this new year that you’ve been given. Going to lose weight? Swim with sharks? Run along side the wildebeasts of Africa? We want to know!

All you have to do is get yourself a webcam, or a buddies computer equipped with one, and drop a video of yourself on youtube of you telling us what you are going to do with this next year. Try to keep it under 30 seconds. We’re going to put together this video of all you guys and put it on our H&H YouTube page for all to see. Don’t worry! Ash and I will totally be doing this too. Please submit all entries by Thursday, January 7.

Episode 138 – Two Humps Are Better Than One

It’s a cold one up here at H&H headquarters. I’m sitting at the H&H command station looking out the window at a winter wonderland, or so they say. I did go out and build a snowman..or snow lump. The snow doesn’t pack as well as it should for building stuff. Anyway, the important thing is that I know I’m not the only one knee deep in this fluffy white stuff, and we all need some kind of entertainment. That being said, I am so very proud to present to you all the next crazy installment of Horseshoes & Hand Grenades. We talked about Hooters, camels, monkeys, and cash…but not necessarily in the same story. Have a blast!

Episode 135 – Oh Look! A Three-headed Turkey!

Horseshoes & Hand Grenades hopes that you and your respective families have all had an excellent Thanksgiving holiday, and taken some time to reflect on what’s important to you. We also hope that we made that list. Honestly, what would you do without us? How else would you learn how ridiculous people can be during the year? We had a blast this episode rambling over some news and, of course, hearing about all the things your thankful for. Between calls and emails we felt pretty loved. Nerdy Talk – Episode 1

I know this is totally different for H&H, but not so different for one of it’s hosts. I, Steve, have ventured back into the tech podcasting universe by hosting a show I have so lovingly dubbed “Nerdy Talk.” It’s really a term of endearment now isn’t it? On this episode I’m joined by H&H listeners Vash and Micahpie for a good conversation on the ins and outs of Windows 7. The operating system was released just a month ago, and has had the geek masses running to it with the promise of a better experience than Windows Vista. Did it deliver? Listen to three tech heads hash out the details and get down to whether this is the beacon of hope, or simply another mediocre release from the boys at Microsoft.

This is Stephen… i have a large head. I must wear enormous hats to fit atop my large head. I like poop jokes. I think they are funny. I also like when my dongles are fongled by rabid squirrels. Episode 129 – Toe Fungi RoosterZ

This episode was a very special episode of H&H as we had a guest host! Since Ashley is out fighting off mobs of amphibious squirrel zombies, we asked my good friend Lando to join us. Oh what an excellent choice that turned out to be. Ash was able to call in and talk for a few minutes about a really odd story involving a handsome pharmacist, roosters, and her parents. Try to make sense of that one! This episode we talked about train catching trousers, dwarf racing, and a rant about school kids…again. H&H, It’s the real thing!

Episode 128 – Running on Cow Power

After a 2 week hiatus, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades returns in an explosion of fire and doves just like John Woo likes it. We went through some stories this week that are guaranteed to make you think twice about putting confidence in the human race. There are some weird people on this little blue rock of ours, ladies and gentlemen, and we take it upon ourselves to let you know about every one of them that we can in an hour and a half. The “Disney buys Marvel” story became way too big for a random rabbit trail on Horseshoes & Hand Grenades so we decided to turn it into an After the Blast show in order to better analyze the situation and give the conversation more time to blossom. There are so many emotions surrounding this purchase in the fanboy community. From joy to rage, trust to suspicion, tears of sadness to tears of happiness, this thing has the geek community going absolutely nuts! After the Blast w/ Chris Moreno – Episode 9

Our good friend Chris Moreno decided to once again grace us with his present and take some time out to tell a story or two. Chris is the artist behind such amazing works as Sanz Pantz: Ninja Platypus, Super Frat, Dysfunctianimals, the current Toy Story series and a whole crap ton more. Disaster Strikes!

“Houston, we have a problem”
After the show on Thursday I tried to save the audio file just like another day, and that’s when the unthinkable happened: my computer died. Not like DEAD died, but froze up to the point where I couldn’t do anything. As a result, episode 114 was lost to the ether and shall never be heard. I’m devastated at this loss because we had a ton of funny stuff on that episode. The good news is that Ash and I aren’t against doing it all over again, so we will be recording episode 114b sometime today. As soon as we can get it all done I’ll post it up and we’ll be back in business. I’ve also made the appropriate changes so that we won’t be losing an entire show like that again.
